| Without doubt the biggest electronic party in New York city is Girls and Boys - the 2000+ people party that features some of the biggest and most cutting edge names in dance music such as MSTRKRFT, Justice, deadmau5, Simian Mobile Disco, Vitalic, A-Trak, Crookers, Bloody Beetroots, Boys Noize, Rusko, Neon Indian and many, many more. Every Friday for well over a year, the Grand Ballroom at Webster Hall has been transformed into a packed room of electro kids, hands in the air in appreciation of the throbbing distorted bass and electronic beats that have altered the landscape of dance music in America over the last few years. |

Pendulum [www.myspace.com/pendulum ]
One of the most popular drum'n'bass acts of the early 21st century, Pendulum are an Australian group based in the United Kingdom. Formed in Perth in 2002, the group was originally comprised of producers Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, who worked in tandem with a local DJ named Paul "El Hornet" Harding. One of the team's initial releases, "Vault," became a sensation amid the drum'n'bass community in 2003, benefiting greatly from high-profile placement at the beginning of J Majik's FabricLive mix album. The track was also licensed for placement on several other CDs, including Adam F and DJ Fresh's Breakbeat Kaos mix album for Ministry of Sound. Other early productions such as 2003's "Spiral" and 2004's "Another Planet" -- released by Adam F and DJ Fresh on their Breakbeat Kaos label -- were also well-received in the drum'n'bass community.
In 2005, Pendulum made their full-length album debut, Hold Your Colour, featuring the singles "Tarantula" and "Slam." That same year, the group scored its biggest hit to date with a remix of the Prodigy classic "Voodoo People," which broke into the Top 20 of the U.K. singles chart. All of this success in 2005 culminated with an Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 that arrived late in the year. Following a couple one-off singles -- "Painkiller" (2006; featuring the Freestylers) and "Blood Sugar" (2007) -- Pendulum signed to Warner Music U.K. and made their major-label debut with 2007's "Granite," a Top 30 hit. "Propane Nightmares" (2008), their second release on Warner, was an even bigger hit, breaking into the Top 20 and setting the stage for their second full-length album, In Silico (2008). ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi

TRASH!
The infamous TRASH! party at The Studio in Webster Hall is the "go-to" Friday night event for rambunctious erotic behaviour coupled with the best playlist in NYC. Hosted by DJ JESS and ALEX MALFUNCTION, the party has a flair for underground fashion, a frenetic passion for cutting edge music, and a sense of camp and frivolity that invokes the contraband celebrations of 1920s speakeasies, the flamboyance of Studio 54, and the ecstatic release of 1990s Limelight. Kookie club kids work the dance floor, post punk go-gos flash their undies, and the "Late Nite Cabaret" show turns every head in the room. Get there early to catch cutting edge bands; stay late for the wicked 2-4-1 drink special. Work a look for door whore BRENDON JAMES and skip the line. This is the ultimate party for girls who are boys who like boys to be girls who do boys like they're girls who do girls like they're boys. Always should be someone you really love...
